Uranium exploration and mining in the Arkaroola Wilderness Region by Marathon Resources was never likely to end well. Marathon ended up being fined for illegal dumping. Even the Hawker council tip refused to take their [non radioactive] waste for reburial.
Senator Hanson Young [Greens SA] tabled this statement in the Australian Parliament in 2018 regarding the metamorphosis of Marathon into Leigh Creek Energy, now Neurizer.
