It was more than just a sale - rather a spin off as many Black Cat directors and management had cut their teeth at Northern Star - same also directors of SHN (my other high value near term gold producer) whose M.D. Dr Damian Keys was also a Northern Star geo. The connection also continues to Dreadnought and they will surely be brought under the big umbrella in due course.
But will Black Cat's next acquisition be another goldie I wonder - much future wealth will come from critical metals, and what better company to take advantage than one with financial and management strength and discipline, and with noteworthy geological expertise.
Its a good thing to follow the people, as well as the money.
"Intrepid sold the mine to Northern Star Resources in July 2010 for A$40 million.[15] In June 2022 the mine was sold to Black Cat Syndicate as part of a package of assets which also included the Coyote Gold Mine. Exploration for new resources is scheduled to commence in September 2022.[16]"
In two and a half years the new team took BC from exploration to ownership of 2 gold plants, and within sight of 150 k oz pa this year.
A billion, or multi billion dollar Company coming up.
