Cabinda’s most commonly produced and consumed crops include bananas, cassava, sweet potatoes, yams, maize, peanuts, vegetables, citrus fruits, cocoa, coffee, and palm fruit. Around 38,000 rural families are supported by the sector, representing 97% of the region’s family farmers and cultivated land.

Poor peasant farmers who can't afford fertilisers and pesticides

Cant rely on peasant poor farmers - need sales agreements ( distribution ) with commercial and large scale production businesses

To achieve food security, need a “productive balance” between family and commercial farming and greater participation from the business sector in large-scale production.
