@eshmun I got an email reply from Alex regarding estimated background soil samples. Because the sampling is so wide spaced (c. 1.6km), the dataset is quite small, so they can't accurately predict what the 'true' background gold-in-soil levels are to a statistically significant level. The typical 'background' gold in soil is estimated to be around 0.1-1.5ppb for the types of terranes Chalice are on.
It seems to me that even though the ground is quite mobile, the fact that 5.5ppb+ anomalies coincide with geophysical anomalies and fault lines is highly encouraging. Looking forward to some proof of thesis. Even if there's a miss, NML/CYL's drilling successes have me encouraged for CHN to strike with time.
From July 12th geochemistry update: "The West anomaly is open along strike to the north and south and Chalice plans to complete infill sampling in this area to better define the limits of the soil anomalism."
