There is also a major covid outbreak at the Thai border with Myanmar.
Myanmar border casino is the only worthy competition to Poipet's border Casino. Now, with the Myanmar dictator military in control again.. for Thai citizen. Going to Myanmar for gambling is now out of the question.
This means that for the the majority of Thai Citizen, Poipet is their only legal gambling venue (unless they want to go to Laos, but most Thai live in the south).
This is actually very good news for Poipet and Star Vegas.. With the upcoming Chinese new year in mid February.. i expect Star Vegas to be very profitable in the next few months.
