That sentence is very problematic @stocktraderman

Q How do you have a bet with a legally binding agreement? Legally binding agreements can not bet.

And if assume that your comvoluted sentence menas something else - do you bet with a mate or have a legally binding agreement (contract) with a mate? Or maybe both!
