I recall talking to DW about the K4 frac at the time as I saw that hot copper post and wanted to know if it was accurate. DW wouldn't discuss the size of the frac specifically (fair enough too) but it occurred around the same time that they were seeing the large productivity gains (drainage area expansion, and big uplift in K3 pumping rates - close to 1000 bwp/d). I can't recall the discussion that well but it was along the lines of they were happy with the frac and especially as we are seeing those large productivity gains which will suit the frac we have completed.

I probably thought at the time that maybe the frac was smaller (because of that post) but given the massive improvement at K3 they probably wanted a smaller frac than the 500,000 lbs that was originally expected anyway. I got the feeling they thought it was successful given what they were seeing at the well next door which was a relatively small frac too.
So maybe it was one of those moments where they thought they stuffed it but when the pumping rates increased so much they were actually pretty pleased with it ??
I do agree it was sloppy disclosure though if it was actually that much smaller than expected.

Just on K4 - I think saying it is completely dead is wrong. The ESP is rated for a much higher flow than its putting out, and the minimum rate at which it can flow may be just a bit more than the well is flowing. For example (and I am not a pump specialist), the ESP could be rated for 700-5000 BWP/d range. K4 may be flowing at 600 bwp/d - which in itself is ok, but not enough to keep the availability up to the pump. So its design was for that much bigger frac and they would have ordered it according to that frac size. If it is a smaller frac, as they suggest, then may be the pump flow is now the issue not so much that the reservoir is not flowing water at all.

Just an idea.....?
