Re: gas price, Central seem to quote their revenue ex-field, which means that when they say average gas price was $5/GJ they are actually selling it for $8-10 depending on where they are delivering it to.
Quoting ex-field is handy and allows us to compare revenue with ex-field cost, it effectively removes the hassle of trying to compute the pipeline charges for each contract separately.
The pricing is still pretty decent, it's not as much as RC was spruiking but I was never counting on that anyway. Extremely high gas prices aren't sustainable - nor any other commodity. Markets find a way to equilibriate, either through new supply or demand destruction. When you've got three big LNG projects connected to the network that collectively produce many times the total domestic demand, it's ridiculous to expect that $12+ gas prices would be sustained.
