Just to clarify, as judging by some of the commentary, people do not understand what a spot market is. You do not need to have an offtake to sell a product. You can sell it on the spot/cash market at the current rate.
This applies to all commodities - Oil, wheat, oranges, iron ore etc
An off-take is only beneficial to secure future sale of a product which in turn negates risk and is also beneficial when seeking development loans etc. The downside is that you will sell product at a discounted rate to spot in order to have that security.
