Normandy was only a great success story in their early years.
Robert Champion "De Crappers" was extremely lucky being taken over by Newmont Mining because they were after the "Super pit"
Must give it to him that he managed squeeze a top price out of Newmont ($2+ if I correctly remember}
Normandy was a fully hedged company & would have gone belly up with any rise in the POG.
