Thanks for that point Worzel. You are correct in saying that the Income Statement will recognise an expense for accounting purposes. It also affects accounting for tax assets due to temporary differences between accounting profit and taxable profit, but we won't go there.
The point I tried to make was in regard to the Cashflow Statement and I shouldn't have put down Income Statement where I did.
Anyway, it all means that the mine rehab cost part of the AISC is a non cash expense. It does not affect operating cash flow until some time in the future when the actual costs are paid.
