I don't think a comparison of the price today vs 14 months ago is useful vendor as much as I know a TA likes living in the past. As Chuk highlights many stocks have had similar SP results after the post GFC 2010-2011 bounce. What is more important to question, is how ABU, or any gold stock will go under the new gold stock paradigm of being seen as over priced and under performing. Can ABU break out of that stigma? POG good run last night, HUI barely registered. The Andean comparison is not that useful either - it happened at a different time (market generally was better, majors were spending big on average projects post GFC, and you have to argue the Andean deposit location was better for frequency of truly world class deposits) that would struggle to repeat if it happened now.
