The Quarterly noted that in the Lake McKay negotiations it was the other way around. The NT holders wanted the project but their Trustee had created an expensive two year framework to settle the arrangement.
In the Martu case the Lake is some distance from the camp and only occasionally visited by the Martu. An improvement in their camp living conditions would be a positive for adults and children.
However, belief systems are intangible and not easy for outsiders to weigh their significance.
