One can have problem in Asian countries with land titles. Sometimes people only have rights! titles not freehold. Money can be owned like taxes and costs. Others things can be just as bad eg; The owners could have assumed the land from a deceased family member , and the don't bother transferring the title because of the cost and red tape .

Now people will sell those rights and/or deceased titles along with unpaid liabilities , as a normal transaction without fixing it . Govt land offices are another story , records are lost, stolen, corruption prevails etc , etc.,. It is stressful and if you only knew first hand . And it takes time in cases.

Got to be careful out there !
