Oh so true. Have been involved in the stock market for many years and it continues throw up little surprises. If it was an exact science all of us would be extremly rich!!!

There are many ways to assess the value and prospects of a stock. I remember many years back a spices company (cannot rember its name) dropped from $1.12 to 0.08c. I read a small piece in the paper no more than 4 lines that the second richest man in NZ bout 500mill worth. I was using a broker at the time and asked him about the stock. He informed me it was no good. I figured the 2nd richest man in NZ was propably rich for a reason and no doubt smarter than I was and I put a large buy in for 7c. (That was my research) It sat in the cue for ages as the stock did not drop below 8c. I finally got talked out of buying it and dumped the order. 2 months later it was worth 30c and 12 months up to a $1.

Interesting game investing not only in so called proven stocks let alone very speculative stocks like SDL
