Hi Slange, your mention of oil got me thinking.
Question; Does anyone know what happen to that proposed power line for Syama? Saw a report somewhere online the other day with respect to diesel-HFO power costs that suggested it was still costing most companies between 29-33c/kwhr to generate power cf. average grid power costs of 15c in West Africa. Seem to remember Resolute saying energy costs were more than a third of their costs at Syama. Simple maths and the quarterly results suggest that this would lower costs by more than A$200/oz! Quarterly results were excellent, other than the piss poor recoveries, but they could be generating an extra $50m per year in revenue well in to the future.
