If LD is considered as a closed circuit the [non potash] salt content in the lake is not changing. The [non potash] salt is returned to LD after potash is extracted.
In practice, LD has a dynamic set of hydrological factors that include direct rainfall and a large drainage basin that feed inflows into the lake .
