Talisman is a historic underground mine that was worked as recently at the 1990s... There's barely any development work that needs doing. Ore can be treated at enormous OGC plant down the road, it's a really good position for NTL to be in.

Remember they filed a judicial review on the basis that water might be contaminated and might get out of the mine - but, alas, NTL expert evidence, HDC expert evidence and Waikato Regional Council expert evidence all refuted it so the PK guys had to up-sticks and accept the fact.

Sure, they might stand around getting in the way or commit acts of intentional damage but they've already been arrested and charged and/or trespassed for unlawfully interfering with Newcrest's work with Laneway across the road so they are likely to learn quite quickly that lawful avenues are the way to go. Eventually the police won't bail them and they'll sit in the cells all weekend
