I think they will be fine! They have a good target (40k) and it doesn't appear to be a stretch target by any means, so over 2 to 3 quarters she'll come good. It just sounds as though the previous owners haven't done any favours though.
Importantly, they probably want to do their hedging a little better ... $3.6m loss is woeful
