After a short look the only recent underground drilling program I could find that is comparable to the A1 is a Canadian mining company called Golden Star.
One of their mines Prestea Underground planned a diamond drilling program last year between their 1700 and 2400 levels. Its seems like it is an old mine with old workings. There is an old shaft but a new decline. Similar to the A1 mine.
Their budget to drill and assay approximately 23,000 metres is $2.8 million Canadian or about $3 million Australian. About $1.30 per metre. This sounds on the low side to me. I didn't know that Canadian drillers are cheap?
How much is it going to cost to drill out enough of the A1 to show that there is a big enough ore body at a high enough gold grade? Thats anyone's guess.
The peanuts in charge may have an answer.
Tomorrow I will try and find some Australian mining companies underground drilling budgets.
