What I cannot understand is why the staff costs and admin and corporate costs are so high and then you read that they are cutting back on mining operations.

The best way to turn this company around is to CUT BACK on senior management costs and admin and corporate costs not mining costs. Become a more frugal operation . We do not need a high paying CEO and other senior management who feel the need to cut mining operations . They are incentivised with share options but I suppose because they will never achieve these goals so high pay is the only way if you are not too good at your job.
