Trump says he might wait until after election to do a deal (China pushed hard last week flying the "all tariffs must be removed for phase 1 deal" which of course is a win for China who will then never do any more deals, and loss for trump who would have gone through all that pain for a 'back to how it was' lost the trade war deal)

US passes bill to support Hong Kong, China retaliates barring US gov ships and legislators ect visiting HK

US further looking to punish China for their Nazi style concentration treatment of the Muslim Uighurs

SFX is a binary gamble on Bruce getting a partner funding deal locked down. Nerves cause some to sell and take risk off the table just in case Bruce fails again. Few that like the story haven't already bought their fill, so no buyers around to even average down yet.
