Um I might be wrong here but is your statement completely wrong?
Once a mine is starting up don't they use a mix of developmental ore and stoping ore with the mix moving heavily towards stoping ore once the mine is running at full capacity? I think from memory John said that it would eventually be a 90:10 mix.
Also i'm guessing you can't just pick out the high grade ore on an underground mine.
I would also assume that with recoveries and the plant being tweaked that you would be running alot of low grade ore to start with to maximise recoveries once the process plant is running effeciently.
