    "All aboard the Tesla skyrocket"

Tesla's upcoming "battery day" announcement, undoubtedly has a lot to do with their purchase of Maxwell Technologies sometime back, as explained in this video:

Yes, before you ask, its a Lithium Ion EV battery. Like Solid State EV batteries, I'm unsure if it utilises LiOH or LCE though.

I always thought Tesla's purchase of MaxTech was more to do with combining Ultracapacitors with EV batteries but the video explains its more than that. Jeff Dahn has alluded to the million mile EV battery before. Still, it seems they can also halve the EV battery size/cost and still get the performance of todays long range EV battery.

Tesla recently expressed that their main fear is a lack of EV batteries to keep up with their EV production.

Tesla use Panasonic's NCA EV batteries but have publicly stated they will use CATL's NCM811 EV batteries for their Chinese gigafactory. I wonder what Panasonic or Ganfeng will say after Tesla's battery day announcement?

"His Company perfected the EV and then gave away the patent"

Are Solid State EV batteries redundant before they even reach commercialisation?

One of their design objectives is to eliminate Cobalt as much as possible. They DON'T want to be sourcing ANY product from the DRC given their history of human rights abuse. It follows they DON'T want to source Lithium from the DRC either.

BMW has signalled they do not wish to source Lithium from such countries and have specifically expressed they want their raw material sourced from Australia. After VW's ICE emissions scandal sometime back, they will undoubtedly follow suit.

Accordingly, the ONLY possible purchaser of Manono in the DRC, are fools or the Chinese. Well, it was always going to be the Chinese as they have spent so much time and money securing their tentacles into Africa and own most of the infrastructure there. Every time AVZ spend money developing the project, a big fat Chinaman giggles like a little girl and says "Xie Xie". The Chinese can wait a long time ... but will they bother given the recent public statements by Tesla and BMW? Very unlikely, they will just secure it for the future.

AVZ will get diluted to nothing, eventually.

The Pilgangoora on the other hand, is the largest hard rock source of LCE in the world and 100% owned in a safe, sovereign jurisdiction. This justifies a premium valuation.

Some say PLS earnings don't justify a decent valuation. How much did Wodgina and Earl Grey earn??? There are many ways to value a business or Company, the DCF Method being only one of them.

We have a $A700m MC. WTF?!?!?! During Lithium boom phase 2 we achieved a MC over $A2b when we only had a defined resource. We're so much more now. Roll on Lithium boom phase 3.

BTW not many people know this but Res starred as Johnny in Flying High (called Aeroplane in the USA):
