Pleasantly surprised to see BSR still has 1.772 mill cash in the bank. Thought cash position would be a lot dire. The oher plant Management may referring to are the power generators as nothing has been mentioned about them of late. Last I heard an order was being put together. Have no idea where these are coming from. Looks like BSR is going back to Coris for more funds (good luck with that) and intends to have more capital raisings this quarter and the next.
Odd that the estimated cash outflows for next quarter were not given as they have in all previous quarterly reports. Maybe they do not know.
Thanks Assl2015 for posting that recent article on Senegal. A very interesting to read. No mention of Bassari though. Apparently, iIlegal mining is now operating in the national parks being supported by Chinese nationals and according to the writer this is still just the tip of this problem in Senegal. The Chinese are paying these miners $42US$ a kilogram for their gold. If that is correct at 32.1507 troy ounces to the kilogram that would be 1.19US$ an ounce. What is our projected cash cost again? Maybe BSR should have just hired 10,000 to 20,000 of the locals equipped them with picks and shovels and offered to pay them $100 or $200 US$ a kilogram. A definite bargain at only 3.11 or 6.22 US$ an ounce. Not bad. Hey.
Seriously though, it still appears BSR has a way to go yet and with the start of the wet season 3 months away there could be further holdups. Even the managers performance bonuses are now starting to look a little shaky at this point of time. Although they do have until 31/5/2020.
