Is your post not completely wrong? During the GFC gold fell extremely quickly, but rebounded very strongly.
The GFC was 2007-2008. Gold hit it's ATH on Sep 5 2011.
History does often repeat. At the start of Corona gold got pummeled just like it did in the GFC. Just like the GFC gold has rebounded very quickly and is looking increasingly bullish.
Let's hope history repeats and we hit ATH's.
