They are taking a defeatest attitude.
A 5 parts per billion gold anomaly in calcrete is no big deal.
A few shallow drill-holes to bedrock with grades of 1 g/t would may burn some cash but would make this target much more attractive.

Are the directors prepared to spend some money on a punt? Is this not what risk taking is all about?

"Methinks" the directors trying to "stretch out" the +$3M that BUX has in the bank in order to get more directors fees over a longer period of time while appearing to be conserving the shareholder cash. This is a common ploy by small exploration companies.
