Asx gold miner AUL confounded supporters by yet again failing to make a profit in the latest quarterly report.
This is another chapter of the long running saga where the cheer squad somehow fails to recognise that the critics have been right year after year.
AUL is very grateful to WRM wanting to take them over. The lack of enthusiasm and knowledge of AUL operations was obvious when the hired gun geology consultant and WRM head, when briefly mentioning AUL, just repeated rote the same story that's been told for the last 40 years.
The investment community is relieved to see the end of AUL, watching one of the planets greatest and slowest train wrecks was becoming tedious and depressing.

................... Correction to previous story regarding AUL ....................
In a previous article a junior reporter somehow labelled AUL a gold miner.
He has been disciplined for believing company releases without sufficient fact checking.
He said that on reflection a more accurate description would have been that they mined shareholders far more successfully than gold. Just look at the frequent capital raises to support a losing operation, look at the capital destruction over the years.
We apologise unreservedly for our error.
