Heartware is due to list on ASX on 31/1/05. It will be interesting to see if they have successfully marketed the float to investors in light of the legal dispute. I think it is kinda strange that a Florida based company would list on ASX and not NYSE.
VCR is miles ahead of Heartware as far as the trials are concerned and have a very strong patent position. It could be that even if the Heartware product is superior that they won't be able to market the product because it infringes VCR's patents. Once the ventra-assist is marketable VCR should be able to swallow Heartware and utilise any improvements in the technology.
For the time being though this stock is high risk as the chart indicates. Investors don't like uncertainty.
