As for the pelletasation, i suspect that its just another value add, as what ever is left will be some form of pine like pulp... but once dried and pelletised is a saleable product for farm use in stables and kitty litter... or so the internet tells me.
Seems like the whole thing is designed to squeeze every dollar out of a pine stump.
