It is difficult to predict how and by what date ,China will cease mining coal in China. Reports show that China is mining 11.3 Million tons of coal a day. Up from 10.4 Million tons a day. That is 4 billions tons p.a. As yet we are yet to see how and into what energy mix China will transition from coal. nuclear, LNG, renewables, Hydro and what? China's demand for electricity is not going to abate. Rather with the new three child policy , the rise in population will need even greater demand. A visitor to areas outside Shanghai and Beijing will be gobsmacked at the hundreds of thousands of apartments awaiting residents. Massive freeways sitting idle awaiting future cities. Don't think China will stop coal before 2060.
