Does China's demand for coal now really affect NHC ?I thought China now principally use internal supplies with some from Russia & Indonesia.
So, to some extent, they are only secondary impacts on our sell prices & qty.
Because they don't now buy the quality Newcastle 6000kcal coal, Aussie companies have sought & found other customers. It is very unlikely that China will export any coal to disrupt the international market due to their needs.
NHC's main customers are now India, Japan, Sth Korea, Vietnam & Taiwan with small amt for domestic.
What happens with those other countries will be the key, going forward, to the demand, sell prices and the timespan of demand for NHC's coal. Keep your ears to the ground for any news from these countries in the decades to come.
The "cost curve" is the other relevant issue. See below.
With NHC in the lower quartile of cost producers, if there does come excess supply in the decades to come, then the higher cost producers worldwide will be the first to be squeezed out.
NHC should be there till the end.
