    Mineral Commodities Ltd (MRC) Battery Minerals Division owns and operates the Trælen underground natural graphite mine and Skaland processing plant (via its subsidiary, Skaland Graphite AS) in northern Norway, and the Munglinup Graphite Project (MGP - which has been designated a critical minerals project by the Australian Government) in Western Australia. Environmental approvals for MGP are expected in Q4 of this year. The Company is also developing an environmentally sustainable graphite purification process in collaboration with Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO to produce anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LiBs).

    MRC’s Mineral Sands Division operates the Tormin mineral sands operation in South Africa, producing mineral sands concentrates from high-grade beach deposits.

    MRC is entering a period of expansion as part of its 5-year growth strategy, driven by increased demand for graphite for use in lithium-ion batteries and a significant increase in mineral sands resources in South Africa.

    Accordingly, MRC is looking for a Projects Manager to manage the execution of its key expansion and downstream value-add projects in mineral sands and graphite.


    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    This role encompasses management of the potential expansion projects, specifically focused on:


    · Completion of initial Inland Strand mining and processing project

    · Complete study and potential construction and commissioning of a dry mill/mineral separation plant to produce value-added final mineral sands products at Tormin

    · Studies for potential bulk mining and processing unit of Inland Strand at Tormin

    · Near-term Skaland Graphite de-bottlenecking

    · Expansion study for Skaland Graphite beyond existing permitted capacity

    · Complete DFS for Munglinup Graphite development

    · First Active Anode Materials train front end engineering design, construction, and commissioning

    · Future Active Anode Materials Plant expansion


    The candidate must satisfy the following skills and requirements:

    • BSC degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (an advanced degree would be highly regarded)

    • Previous mineral sands and more specifically graphite projects management experience will be highly advantageous

    • Technical credentials in project management preferred

    • 10+ years of experience in related project management environment

    • 6-8 years mining experience essential

    • Successful track record of working on project(s) in international environments

    • Able to travel overseas on assignment

    • Demonstrated experience directing internal and client teams involved in multiple activities

    • Ability to strategically and tactically organise and structure activities

    • Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation, negotiation and presentation

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

    • Strong decision making & problem-solving skills, with appropriate risk management competencies

    • Previous commercial experience advantageous
