Was doing some reading during the week with a focus on your recent comments, @Cassandra74 for the newly cleared area around where the crystallisers will be.

As part of their EPA commitments/requirements from the current Mardie approvals, BCI have to install extensive monitoring pits at both Mardie Homestead and more importantly, the Mardie Pool area. These monitoring pits are designed to monitor contaminates and salinity levels around Mardie Pool, to provide a 'base line' prior to the commencement of filling ponds and production.

The Mardie Pool area is a heritage site and a complete 'No Go' zone for BCI. It is essentially the 'Green' corridor area in the map below, just south of the recently cleared pad area.



This area will likely be a 'prep' area for this body of work, but I also agree it is likely to be the start of the 'Push North' and prep for the Port Access road and Port construction activities.
