A clear advantage of using green ammonia over urea is the carbon footprint. A lower cost would also be a big advantage and Mnb should be able to achieve that because electricity is normally the largest cost input for green hydrogen production and MNB has the extremely low price of just 1.1c per kwh. Competitive and greener as well as locally produced, should make it a preferred product even over locally produced urea. I'm very eager to see that scoping study in coming months.

The researchers say that replacing some of the fertilizers with the highest emissions, such as urea, with ammonium nitrate worldwide could further reduce emissions by between 20% and 30%.
