Yancoal are never particularly clear with their cash generation statements. The $600m is before the debt repayments. Hence cash balance is only up by around $200m vs Dec 22 (when they had a cash balance of $2.6 billion.
they also have the dividend of $900m and tax of $1.5bn (from fy22 earnings) to pay in the current quarter.
so unencumbered cash position is $0.2 billion at 31 March.
still great value and my largest holding, but important to have this perspective with regard cash holdings.
