It wouldnt matter the EV Industry is turning to LFP technology something the numbnuts here cannot comprehend yes they may oneday improve Lynn Lake enough to mine but imo it wont be for years to come as no one will need the dribs an drabs Lynn Lake has and certainly will never be used for the EV Battery's.

Here are some facts for those with their heads stuck in the sand or wearing tin foil hats. rolleyes.png

NMC Vs LFP Which is the Best for Energy Storage

    Rahul J.Lithium-Ion Batteries | LiFePO4 Batteries |…Published May 3, 2023

Lithium-ion batteries have become a popular choice for powering a wide range of applications, from portable electronics to electric vehicles. One of the key factors driving the adoption of lithium-ion batteries is their high energy density, which allows them to store a lot of energy in a relatively small and lightweight package. However, not all lithium-ion batteries are created equal, and different types of lithium-ion batteries have different performance characteristics that make them better suited for different applications. In this blog post, we will compare two of the most popular types of lithium-ion batteries – NMC Vs LFP – and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each.

NMC stands for Nickel Manganese Cobalt, and is a type of lithium-ion battery that uses a cathode made up of a combination of nickel, manganese, and cobalt. LFP, on the other hand, stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate, and is a type of lithium-ion battery that uses an iron-based cathode.

NMC Vs LFP Battery Energy DensityOne of the primary factors that people consider when choosing a battery is its energy density – that is, how much energy it can store per unit volume or weight. NMC batteries typically have a higher energy density than LFP batteries, which makes them more suitable for applications where space and weight are at a premium, such as portable electronics and electric vehicles. However, it’s worth noting that LFP batteries are still relatively compact and lightweight, and their energy density has been steadily improving over the years.

    Cycle Life,

Another important factor to consider when choosing a battery is its cycle life – that is, how many charge and discharge cycles it can go through before its performance begins to degrade. LFP batteries are known for their excellent cycle life, and can typically last for thousands of cycles before needing to be replaced. NMC batteries, on the other hand, have a somewhat shorter cycle life, typically lasting for a few hundred cycles before their performance begins to degrade.

However, it’s worth noting that the exact cycle life of a battery will depend on a variety of factors, including how it’s used and how it’s charged and discharged.

    NMC Vs LFP Battery Safety

Safety is also a critical factor to consider when choosing a battery, particularly in applications where the battery may be subject to physical stress or high temperatures. LFP batteries are generally considered to be safer than NMC batteries, as they are less prone to thermal runaway and have a lower risk of catching fire or exploding. This is because the chemistry of LFP batteries is more stable than that of NMC batteries, which can be more prone to thermal runaway if they are damaged or subjected to high temperatures.

    Cost

Finally, cost is always an important consideration when choosing a battery, as it can have a significant impact on the overall cost of the application in which the battery is being used. In general, LFP batteries are somewhat cheaper than NMC batteries, although the exact cost will depend on a variety of factors, including the size and capacity of the battery, as well as the volume of batteries being produced.

    Conclusion

NMC Vs LFP comparisons, both batteries have their strengths and weaknesses, and the choice between the two will ultimately depend on the specific needs of the application in which the battery will be used. NMC batteries offer higher energy density, making them more suitable for applications where space and weight are at a premium, such as portable electronics and electric vehicles. However, LFP batteries offer superior cycle life and safety, making them more suitable for applications where reliability and security are critical, such as energy storage systems for homes and businesses. Ultimately, the best lithium-ion option will depend on the specific needs of the application and careful consideration of the trade-offs between energy density, cycle life, safety, and cost.

I have been yelling this from the tree tops for well over 5 years for all those with any worthwhile grey matter as to why Lynn Lake will not get off the ground besides its low content thats spread over so many different areas unfortunately some still need to pull their heads out of the sand.
