In the context of Quicksilver, you may not realise that the already extant shallow, free-dig deposit can boast a Resource Estimate of 26.3Mt @ 0.64% Nickel & 0.04% Cobalt - for 168,500 contained metal Tonnes Ni, 11.300 Tonnes Co. That's the prize the Stage 3 Met is setting about unlocking.
Hence our Managing Director, Damon Dormer's, description in yesterday's commencement of drilling announcement of “an already significant“ and "a great deposit.”
Whatever the outcome of the present drilling round, that's not going to evaporate.
But the Quicksilver Primary drilling programme does hold major interest because it has potential to add significantly to the Project - unusually, in two possible ways:
There's potential for disseminated nickel sulphides beneath all that near surface nickel and cobalt encountered to date.
And for primary REE mineralisation, with a potential carbonatite source.
Strike anything like that, and we have blast off - from a base which is already arguably set way too low.
