There is risk ek to everything including the vie. It was very interesting and dynamic trying to work out what holdings were most risky in Russia last year. Turned out the Moscow listed shares were the best bet, but without hindsight it was a tough call.
I own a few Hong Kong listed companies including cnooc and ck hutch. Clearly there is risk if China invaded taiwan which would prevent me from going too heavy in China/hk, but risk also creates opportunity and mis pricing as I’m sure you know.

i own capri which is worth looking at as a play on Chinese luxury. Very good valuation.
