think you will find the State of Qld will still get its royalties whether NHC has Freehold or not....if the deeds were old enough going back before 1901 there may be a case
In that 2015 Courier Mail article a spokesman for the company said they will still pay Royalties
It may well be with some mines a royalty is paid to a landholder, but usually only if the deeds are very very old...most land titles only give you rights to the surface
most non state government royalties are paid to original or earlier holders of the lease
