I agree - they need to reward long term holders.
I was looking through past announcements, all the way back to 2013. In March 2013, they released an announcement on Koolan Island Optimization - it discussed the possibility of underground mining below the main pit and below the Acacia satellite pit. But the recent announcements haven't mentioned this - they only mentioned the satellite pits at the AGM but that was just incremental amounts to supplement the main pit output.
