There is brief mention of the small Stratford mine (connected by a siding to the Maitland to Brisbane main rail line) ceasing - I assume soon - and the planned renewables hub but I agree, YAL should stick to its knitting of producing the black gold.
The 'energy transition' worldwide is a joke when mainland China and India (and others) continue to build new coal-fired power stations. They're completely rational in wanting 24/7 reliable, affordable electricity for their citizens and industry. It will be decades before coal no longer has a role, if indeed that scenario ever comes to pass.
Meanwhile in Oz we have mad Labor/Greens socialist governments attacking coal and even natural gas and refusing to agree to (in the medium term) nuclear small scale plants.
