This small extract from YAL's report re its major Moolarben mine (that's on the Muswellbrook to Ulan NSW branch line) strikes me as good management.

Flexibility:

"...Product stockpiles are at elevated levels following a train derailment on the rail line servicing Moolarben in late 2023. Coal wash plantmaintenance originally scheduled for October is being brought forward to April as a mitigation measure due tothe elevated product coal stockpiles..."

Otherwise, given we can't expect the sale prices of 12 months ago that were unusually high, a very pleasing report.

There's been good rains in northwest NSW in the last 36 hours but from what can be the inaccurate BOM maps, it appears to be a bit north of the Hunter Valley. YAL with its open pits can be susceptible to heavy rain.
