Gold mine labs usually only have an AAS for testing gold, very rare they will have any other gear. The lab isn't to blame I suspect, more the geo/mining team that didn't get a decent sample and send it off for mineralogy. Although, the Mets need to take accountability also; if they knew differing ore was coming they should have asked the question.
Preg robbing will only be an issue once gold is dissolved - if they had carbon in leach from the moment cyanide is added it would dampen the preg-robing effect. Maybe lessons learned for them the hard way?
