so the grades weren't bad but the recover was. The question is if this was preventable. If whoever responsible did their job right. As I am guessing ALK would have a LAB to test for carbon (and other elements) content on site for the plant.
CSR have such lab at their Fibre Cement Plant to test for silica, carbon, moisture, pulp etc.. and they perform these tests few times every shift to keep consistency of the material flowing through the plant.
Is it the case if they detected the carbon levels on time and adjusted the Plant for optimal recovery, they should have produced lot more ounces. Or is it a case regardless if they identified the higher carbon in the ore there was nothing they could do.
