let's see what comes out CAI as they start to release more and more information. is it possible for ALK to make a move to take CAI over as hedge-free and only to pay a $1 plus to take the debt?
Even if ALK can't get the AISC below $2.3k but prevents it from blowing above $2.6k, at current prices and with no hedges, this operation may turn out to be ok.
If this is the case, then the short sellers are hoping the news will not be received well by the market and count on more selling so they can close their positions at decent profit.
