it's early... we'll see.
we may see change in substantial holding announcement this morning.. who knows. lot of shares were sold over the last few days and I doubt they were all borrowed by short sellers. I suspect @cactusjack17 could be right and someone is forced to sell but I also suspect an insto got the hint early and were shorting ALK for couple of weeks while waiting for the seller to start dumping his stock - and this is when they (the short seller) started closing their shorts which is perfect timing.
and joel could be right too - passive fund liquidation can cause this too. the only thing about passive fund selling is I think the selling would have been done in more brazen way and would have caused flash-crash in ALK sp. not sure..
wait and see... way too much volume.
