Well Jack60 your and Joelstar sensible and considered approach will generally always prove to produce a better outcome than the scatter gun, irrational thinking and posting of the Antipater brigade.
We have seen this sentiment driven madness on several gold stocks in recent years, WGX, SLR, PNR … ( circa 3x,2x,3x gains achieved ) when the market looked solely at the negatives and not the quantum value of the business, the shorters take advantage of the low sentiment and funds clean out the losers to hide their underperforming choices … generally it turns out to be a profitable trade for those who can see past the pain.
ALK in the last qtr produced the highest ounces, at the highest grade, sold the highest $ amount of gold, at the highest gold price, stockpiled the highest amount of gold than anytime in the last 12 months … but contrary to this, we are now seeing the lowest sp in the last 12 months. Experience and commonsense tells me this is a disconnect in the market and whilst not without risk or further downward sp pressure is starting to present another opportunity in the gold space. Taking an incremental entry at each sp level with the plan of increasing volume if it continues to be suppressed.
@Joelstar, was not going to comment but we have been here many times before, seen this … just don’t agree with the negative posters creating a frenzy of panic. As always a balanced, rational view with some patience is generally required in these situations.
