I agree farmer, these guys cannot even understand the announcement, take this section as a prime example.
During the quarter, the majority (~70%) of production was fine product (-80 mesh) as the commissioning
priorities were on throughput & purity. Reprocessing of stagnant or spilt concentrate from frequent
stoppages during plant commissioning resulted in some overprocessing.
. These consignments totalled 240 tonnes of concentrate at a
saleable grade (90-95% TGC), bagged and planned for sale.
When you consider the graphite WKT produced had some overprocessing, this can explain some of the flake loss, yet they still weren't able to achieve the desired purity of 97%, as we know, to achieve a higher purity you need more processing which reduces the flake size.
WKT has been long selling it will be a premium product, what they have produced so far is well below par, SYR has no issues producing +80 mesh with a purity of 95%
The next QTR report will be entertaining to read. We will undoubtedly hear similar stories about the future and further optimisation is required. SYR has been trying for 5 years and hasn't achieved it.
Where are all the posters that used to post on GPX? They should be able to shed light on the failure of their bulk processing and explain why the retention of the Super Jumbos had a purity of only 80%TGC. Soon after Castlelake pulled out from funding the project.
