I think you need some basic lessons in accounting, finance and structuring. Provisions largely inline with what BHP already has. $6.6bn USD. They’ve increased offer by 34% by increasing the amount in the JV entity (vale controller and operated) will pay over an extended time frame. BHP and Vale would meet obligations if Samarco the mine couldn’t. Samarco is producing again and will pay it over 20 years.
I’d say this is actually positive if signed next week. Just need to dust off the bs law suits from ambulance chasers as this should in theory settle it.
